How to play Lightning Baccarat
Lightning Baccarat is easy to play. Players compete directly against the dealer, rather than others at the table.
However, unlike other table games, Baccarat allows players to bet on whether or not the dealer will beat them by betting money on the Dealer hand instead of just the Player hand. Regardless of how many people there are, the Dealer and Player hands are the only ones dealt at the table.
After all players have placed their bets, two cards are dealt to both the Player and the Banker. The dealer will deal a card face up in the Player's box before doing the same for the dealer. This process is then repeated, giving both boxes two cards each.
Tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings are worth zero points - all other cards are worth their face value, and the ace is worth one point. If a total is more than 10, the second digit is the value of the hand.
For example, if you drew a 8 and a 9 it would be calculated as follows:
- 8 + 9 = 17
- 17-10 = 7
- Your hand is worth 7 points
In order to win your bet must be on the hand that totals closer to nine. However, if the first two cards come to either 8 or 9 for both the Player or the Banker, this is called a natural win and the game is over.
Unlike Blackjack, it is not up to the player whether or not they are able to draw cards. Instead, Baccarat sees players stand automatically on totals of 6 or 7. Players are only able to draw a third card if their hand totals between 0 and 5.
