Game Guide: Blazing Bells

Playtech’s portfolio of games covers a huge range of themes and features, and one of their most beloved is the classic slot Blazing Bells. This is a great game for both beginners and experienced players, as it brings together classic arcade-style charm with super contemporary design.

A Quick History of Slot Games

The very first slot game was  called The Liberty Bell. It was first installed in saloons in the late 1800s, and was a coin-operated mechanical machine. You inserted a coin, pulled a lever and three reels displaying playing cards were displayed. If a winning combination of cards was achieved, a bell would ring and you would win a cash prize.

The Liberty Bell became extremely popular in the decades that followed, and when gambling was more widely legalised in the 1930s it continued to evolve.

The 1970s and early 1980s are considered to be the Golden Era of arcade games, as this is when video slots really took off in casinos and other gaming venues all over the world. The Bell symbol became widely used as a nod to the original Liberty Bell, and fruit machines were the standard.

Online gambling arose quickly after the creation of the internet, and online slots took off in a massive way, still offering many of the same symbols on screen as were used back in the days of land-based terminals. Blazing Bells continues to honour traditional slots and the Liberty Bell and old-school fruit machines, and is a firm favourite among our players here at NetBet. Let’s find out more about it…
