How to Play Aztec Bonanza Slot

When you open up Aztec Bonanza slot, the first thing you'll notice is the unusual setup. The symbols are arranged in a diamond-like shape, with five reels and rows in a 2-4-6-4-2 formation. Blockers are placed on each corner of the grid but can be removed throughout the game to open up the reel set.

To play Aztec Bonanza slot, the first thing to do is set your bet level and coin value using the plus and minus buttons beneath the reels. The bet level can be set anywhere from one to 10, and the coin value can be set between 0.01 and 0.50 to cater for all bankrolls and playing styles. Once you're satisfied with your total bet, simply hit spin and watch the symbols whizz past.

As you'd expect, wins are formed by landing three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels. When a winning combination appears, the symbols disappear from the reels and new ones drop into the gaps – this is known as the tumbling reels feature, which we'll explain in more detail shortly.

Features and Benefits

Like most Pragmatic Play games, Aztec Bonanza slot isn't short of bonus features. First up, you've got the tumbling reels feature. The symbols start off in a cross formation that offers 384 ways to win. Each time a win is formed, the contributing symbols are removed to make space for new ones to drop into. After two successive tumbling wins, one of the blocked portions of the grid is opened up. This increases your number of ways to win and also activates a modifier.

Opening the top left corner will award mystery symbols, which transform into the same matching symbol for more chances to win. Opening the top right corner will cause up to three low-value symbols to transform into higher value icons. Opening the bottom left corner will cause all symbols on the first two reels to be replaced by colossal 2x2 symbols. Finally, opening the bottom right corner causes all symbols on reels four and five to be replaced with 2x2 symbols for more chances to win.

Aztec Bonanza slot is all about the Free Spins feature. This is triggered by unlocking all four corners of the screen to reveal the full reel set. You'll then be awarded five Free Spins, which are played on the fully expanded grid with a mighty 7,776 ways to win!

Bonus Symbols

Aztec Bonanza slot doesn't disappoint when it comes to visuals. You'll see luscious greenery, glistening waterways and a huge pyramid in the background, all whilst listening to a rhythmic soundtrack play out as you wait to hit spin. The reels themselves are filled with diamond, heart, club and spade symbols as the low payers, and four different gemstones as the high payers. The best of the bunch is the green stone, which pays 0.5, 1, or 2.5x your total stake for landing three, four or five in combination.
